COMPOSITE GARDEN ROOMS OR OFFICE

When looking for Composite Garden Rooms or Office the majority of suppliers offer a timber cladding for the exterior, usually in either Cedar or Redwood. We can also offer these materials plus a Composite Cladding option. The choice really depends on your preferences and/or existing environment.

COMPOSITE GARDEN ROOMS OR OFFICE

Please Note: our Composite Garden Rooms or Office are not made from UPVC and do not look false or plastic in any way. Rather, the look and feel of the material closely matches ‘real wood’ but without the need for annual maintenance such as staining or painting.

So, if you want true Zero Maintenance, without the need for regular painting or staining, then Garden Rooms or an Office made from Wood Composite is the only real option, as Cedar or European Redwoods always require bi-annual staining to stop them from warping, and fading to greys and blacks.

Composite Garden Rooms or Office is an environmentally sustainable option as the Wood Composite cladding is made from over 80% recycled wood fibre from sawmills and waste plastic bottles. This, together with the FSC sourced timbers used in our structural frames is our contribution in helping to save the environment

Having the beautiful appearance of traditional wood and the long lifespan of a modern high-tech material, Wood Composite cladding on your Garden Room or Garden Office is the premium choice for new or even replacement cladding projects.

This Composite cladding looks and feels like natural wood and its unique formula provides lightweight yet durable cladding that will not rot throughout its design life, it’s easy to repair or replace, and is an excellent insulator.  Wood Composite comes with a 10 year manufacturers guarantee for additional peace of mind.

CEDAR OR EUROPEAN REDWOOD

Whilst Cedar and some treated Redwoods have an overall lifespan of 30+ years, it cannot be classed as truly maintenance free, as the yellow, orange and brown hues will fade over time if left untreated.

In addition, if the timber boards are only treated on the visible faces as opposed to the front, back and sides, then they will attract moisture into these untreated faces, resulting in differential expansion and potential warping of the boards.

If you understand these factors and are happy to accept how the building will fade to greys over the initial few years, together with the risk of warping, then this material is still a reliable choice.

However, as the photographs below of a Cedar Garden Room demonstrate, if it is left untreated it can turn grey/black and become very patchy. If not looked after, your expensive Garden Room or Office will soon look like a shabby shed..!.

But don't just take our word for it - see this helpful article:

So, if you do not like the idea of regular staining of the timber cladding, then the option is to specify our Wood Composite which requires no maintenance at all..!

“I’m so thrilled with my garden office from where I now run my aesthetic clinic. My patients love not only the privacy and elegance this build provides but also the extra clinical measures I can employ to provide a Covid-secure environment.”
